Crazy People

The above video was taken in front of Rooz at the Oakland Mission Creek show. A group of us, I think it was Ryan, Jameson, Danae, and John, were standing in front, talking, when this dude just kneels down in front of someone's van and starts peeing. Concerned, Ryan was like "Dude, watch your knee", because it seemed obvious to us that he was about to pee on himself. Then the guy starts rambling about how his deah-head friends taught him this trick, blah blah blah... the funny part though, was that the guy peed for like 10 minutes. I mean, a REALLLY long time. It was amazing.

Figure a: Setlist, Strange Flyer

Last week was pretty good. I tracked some bass on ex-Grand Lake drummer Ryan Parks' in-progress album. We played a fun set at Metamusic in Santa Cruz, and had a great time playing OMFG Oakland last night (although I didn't get any photos or video... I'll be sure to throw up a link to some if anyone else posts). During our first two shows as a three piece, we discovered that 1. Being a trio is very different, 2. being a trio is very challenging, and 3. being a trio is fucking rad. We're excited. We will be playing a last minute show at the Knockout on Wednesday, which apparently is the official SF kick-off of the Mission Creek Music Festival. This rules because we like playing alot, and we especially like playing at the Knockout. See ya there?

Thursday, July 16 we make our Davis debut at Sophia's Thai Kitchen for the KDVS Cool As Folk Concert Series.
Wednesday, July 22 finds us back in Oakland at the Stork Club, with Seasick, and our good friends Dirt Dress who are traveling up from LA.

The Mission Creek Music Festival is fast approaching, and this year the festival is coming to the East Bay. We're very happy to be headlining an all-day party/show at Roo's Cafe in Oakland (quite near the lake actually). The SF Guardian's Blog has the details.
